“All the information you need to plan your wedding in one place brought to you by a newlywed couple…”

Personal Wedding Websites

June 13th, 2007 by TheBride

A new and upcoming area in weddings is when couples put together their own website. This can be a very handy tool for you and your fiance.

A website can give your family and friends information about the location of church, reception site, registry information and visitor bureau information for out of town guests. It can also allow you to provide more information about your wedding that might not fit on your invitations or be appropriate. We recently got an invitation to wedding that allows you to choose a dinner meal option. This was very nice however, there wasn’t any description for each meal option. If you had a website this would be an opportunity for you to explain more about the dinner options in order to help your guests make a more informed decision especially if they are allergic to any foods or if they are vegetarian. It also gives you an opportunity to let your future family learn more about you and your fiance.

There are a lot of places that let you get free personal websites for your wedding. These places include the Wedding Channel, The Knot, E-Wedding and some stores give you an opportunity to make a free website if you register with them, Macy’s is a good example of this sort of service.

This maybe more complicated than what you are looking for but it can provide a more personal touch, by allowing you to customize colors and content.

If neither of these options are for you, you can also find a local web designer to create a personalized website for you. These websites can mimic your invitations, wedding dress, colors or a certain theme you have for your wedding. These are becoming extremely popular. Depending on your budget though you should seriously way your options and figure out which wedding website is best for you.
