Finding your Wedding Dress

June 19th, 2007 by TheBride

Once you get engaged it is extremely tempting to pick up bridal magazines and search online for the perfect wedding dress. You should be careful though when doing this.

I would recommend looking online very minimally. This is because after I got engaged I starting looking online and I found the perfect dress. But, then when I went around town to all the bridal shops I couldn’t find it! You should look online for dresses only for style, but unless you live in a big city you probably won’t find the exact dress you were looking for online.

wedding-dress.jpgWhen it comes to finding the perfect wedding dress in your bridal store the only way is to try on as many dresses as your body will allow. After a couple hours in the dressing room your back and brain are going to get tired. When fatigue sets in the best thing to do is call it a day. If you can’t stay focused and you are getting tired of trying on dresses but you continue to try them on you might pass on one because of your mood but in that case you might miss out on a great dress.

You should dedicate a few weekends for trying on dresses and go to as many bridal stores as you can. Each store will carry different designers and will vary in their pricing. If you live close to a state that doesn’t have sales tax on clothes it is a good idea to look there for your dress. Depending on the dress you are looking at sales tax can really add up and cost you a lot.
