Unique Dessert Ideas

June 21st, 2007 by TheBride

Traditionally at a wedding reception cake is served. But what if you aren’t having a traditional wedding or if you just want something a little different for your wedding? Here I list some other great options.

Cupcakes

cupcake.jpgMost bakers offer an array of dessert options. Cupcakes can be a good choice if you are looking for a more unique feel to your wedding. There are three main ways to serve cupcakes at your wedding reception. The first is that you can make a cupcake tower. Bakers usually have trays that they can stack to make the cupcakes look like a tiered wedding cake. The second option is to have have a plate of cupcakes on each table for your guests. The last option is to have an individual cupcake at each place setting. The last two options can also be helpful because you wont have to worry about needing someone to serve the cupcakes to your guests, like you would need for the first option.

Cheesecake

Cheesecake can be a wonderful option if you are looking for something different and unique for your wedding while still maintaining an elegant feel for your wedding. There are also numerous types of cheesecake so you can still have a wide selection of filling choices like you do with a traditional wedding cake.

With cheesecakes you are able to have an assortment of cheesecake types available to your guests.

Sundae Bar

If you are having an outdoor reception and a casual wedding you may consider serving ice cream and letting your guests build your own sundae. This can be a fun way to get your guests involved in your wedding.

Very interesting wedding dessert ideas, it sounds like a lot more fun than the regular wedding cake, I think mini-cheesecakes would be perfect for my wedding.
