Making Bridal Shower Invitations

June 27th, 2007 by TheBride

I recently was matron of honor at a friends wedding. As you know generally it is the maid or matron of honor’s responsibility to put the bridal shower together. It seems every store you go to nowadays has a section dedicated to weddings. You can easily by your bridal shower invitations already made from a store or you can make them yourself. Making them yourself gives the shower invitations a personal and unique touch, along with helping you save some cash.

You can either buy already made blank cards and envelopes or you can buy card stock paper and cut it in half horizontally and fold the cards yourself. There is a wider assortment of colors in card stock so keep that in mind.

Next, you can either buy stamps at your local craft store or look up drawings online and print onto the cards. If you are a good artist you can always draw or decorate the cards yourself as well. A great place to look for drawings is in clip art. Once you find your desired pictures you can arrange them through any photo editing software. After you get the right pictures and wording on the card you should be sure to do some test runs with your printer to make sure the pictures are where you want them and that nothing is getting cut off by the printer.

After you have printed and/or stamped your cards you can add some special touches by using glitter, cutouts, ribbon or even colored pencils or crayons. Although, this takes some time it is definitely worth it.
